Unlock the benefits of neurodiversity in our transformative training course. Embrace differences, foster understanding, and create an inclusive environment where every individual's strengths are valued and celebrated.
Our Neurodiversity Awareness course helps organisations develop a better understanding of the different ways people think, learn and process information. Rather than viewing neurological differences as barriers, participants learn how recognising and embracing neurodiversity can create more inclusive, productive and supportive workplaces.
By increasing awareness of conditions such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia and Tourette syndrome, organisations can improve communication, reduce misunderstandings and help every employee reach their full potential.
This course is ideal for employers, managers and team leaders who want to build a more inclusive workplace and better support neurodivergent employees.
It is suitable for organisations of all sizes and sectors, particularly those looking to improve recruitment, employee wellbeing, retention and workplace culture. The course is also valuable for HR professionals, supervisors and anyone responsible for managing or supporting diverse teams.
No previous knowledge of neurodiversity is required.
Our Neurodiversity Awareness course is delivered through interactive presentations, facilitated discussions, practical activities and workplace scenarios that reflect everyday situations managers and employees may encounter.
Participants explore common misconceptions, discuss the strengths associated with neurodiversity and work through practical examples that demonstrate how small adjustments can have a significant impact. Case studies and group discussions encourage learners to consider different perspectives and identify ways to create a more inclusive working environment.
Training is practical, engaging and tailored wherever possible to reflect your organisation and workplace.
Participants are assessed dynamically throughout the course through practical activities, workplace scenarios, group discussion and instructor observation.
Where appropriate, learners will also complete short quizzes and knowledge checks to reinforce understanding and encourage reflection.
Assessment is carried out by a qualified Skills Shop instructor who holds recognised teaching and assessing qualifications together with relevant occupational competence and experience in workplace inclusion and neurodiversity. This continuous assessment approach allows participants to demonstrate their understanding naturally throughout the course.
Successful participants will receive a Skills Shop Neurodiversity Awareness certificate. We recommend refresher training every three years, or sooner where legislation, workplace practices or organisational policies change.
Skills Shop certificates are issued in-house rather than through an external awarding organisation. This enables us to invest in experienced instructors, practical workplace learning and high-quality training resources rather than annual accreditation fees.
Under the Equality Act 2010, employers have a legal responsibility to prevent discrimination and, where appropriate, make reasonable adjustments for disabled employees, including many neurodivergent individuals. Providing neurodiversity awareness training helps organisations create more inclusive workplaces while supporting legal compliance and improving employee wellbeing.
