Create a safer workplace and protect your team with our comprehensive health and safety training. Build confidence, reduce risks and ensure everyone knows how to work safely. Ideal for businesses that want stronger compliance, better awareness and a more secure working environment.
Our Workplace Health and Safety course gives employees the knowledge and confidence to recognise hazards, reduce risks and contribute to a safer working environment. Rather than simply understanding legal responsibilities, participants learn how health and safety applies to their everyday role and how small actions can prevent accidents, injuries and ill health.
By encouraging a positive safety culture, organisations can improve compliance, reduce workplace incidents and help employees take greater responsibility for their own safety and the safety of those around them.
This course is ideal for employers, managers and team leaders looking to improve health and safety awareness across their organisation.
Suitable for businesses of all sizes and across all sectors, the course provides an excellent introduction for new employees, refresher training for existing staff and a foundation for organisations committed to developing a positive safety culture. Training can also be tailored to reflect your workplace, industry and specific operational risks.
No previous health and safety knowledge is required.
Our Workplace Health and Safety course is delivered using a practical and engaging approach that encourages participation throughout.
Participants learn through instructor-led presentations, workplace discussions, interactive activities and realistic scenarios based on situations they may encounter in their own working environment. Rather than focusing solely on legislation, the course helps learners understand how health and safety principles can be applied every day to reduce risks and improve workplace behaviours.Training is tailored, where appropriate, to reflect your organisation’s activities, ensuring the learning remains relevant, practical and immediately applicable.
Participants are assessed dynamically throughout the course using practical activities, workplace scenarios, group discussion and instructor observation.
Where appropriate, learners will also complete short quizzes and knowledge checks to reinforce learning and confirm understanding of key health and safety principles.
Assessment is carried out by a qualified Skills Shop instructor who holds recognised teaching and assessing qualifications together with relevant occupational competence and industry experience. Continuous assessment allows participants to demonstrate their understanding naturally throughout the course while receiving constructive feedback and support.
Successful participants will receive a Skills Shop Workplace Health and Safety certificate. We recommend refresher training every three years, or sooner where legislation, workplace risks or organisational procedures change.
Skills Shop certificates are issued in-house rather than through an external awarding organisation. This enables us to invest in experienced instructors, practical workplace training and high-quality learning resources rather than annual accreditation fees.
