Refresh your skills and stay compliant with our First Aid at Work Requalification training course. Designed for those who have previously completed the initial training, this essential first aid at work requalification training ensures your knowledge is up-to-date and your certification remains valid. Covering key lifesaving techniques, including CPR, AED use, and managing workplace incidents, our first aid at work requalification course equips you with the confidence to handle emergencies effectively. Stay prepared, stay compliant, and maintain a safe workplace with this critical requalification training.
Our First Aid at Work Requalification course is designed for existing First Aiders whose certificate is due to expire. Over two practical days, participants refresh their knowledge, update their skills and build the confidence to continue responding effectively to workplace emergencies.
The course reinforces good practice, introduces any changes to current first aid guidance and ensures first aiders remain competent to deal with a wide range of incidents, helping employers maintain a safe and compliant workplace.
This course is designed for employers, managers and team leaders who need to renew the qualifications of existing First Aiders before their current First Aid at Work certificate expires.
It is suitable for organisations with higher first aid requirements where maintaining qualified first aid cover is essential. Participants must hold a valid (or recently expired, where permitted) First Aid at Work certificate and should be able to demonstrate current practical first aid skills.
This requalification course takes a practical, hands-on approach, allowing participants to revisit essential first aid techniques through instructor demonstrations, realistic workplace scenarios and practical exercises.
Rather than simply repeating previous learning, the course encourages participants to apply their existing knowledge to real-life situations, develop confidence and discuss challenges they may have experienced since their original qualification.
Training is interactive throughout, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions, share experiences and practise skills in a supportive learning environment tailored to the workplace.
Participants are continuously assessed throughout the course using practical exercises, realistic workplace scenarios, instructor observation and group discussion.
Where appropriate, learners will also complete short knowledge checks to confirm their understanding of current first aid principles and best practice.
Assessment is carried out by a qualified Skills Shop instructor who holds recognised teaching and assessing qualifications together with relevant occupational competence and industry experience. Continuous assessment ensures participants can demonstrate both confidence and competence before successfully renewing their qualification.
Successful participants will receive a Skills Shop First Aid at Work Requalification certificate, valid for three years.
Skills Shop certificates are issued in-house rather than through an external awarding organisation. This enables us to invest in experienced instructors, modern training equipment and practical learning experiences instead of annual accreditation fees.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) does not approve or accredit first aid training providers. Instead, employers are responsible for selecting a competent provider based on instructor qualifications, quality assurance processes and the suitability of the training for their workplace.
To avoid a lapse in qualification, the HSE recommends that First Aid at Work certificates are renewed before they expire. Annual refresher training is also recommended to help first aiders maintain confidence and competence between requalification courses.
