In extreme circumstances the contents of of the abdomen may break through the cavity wall. In this case use a sterile dressing to hold everything in place.

If the casualty stops breathing you should commence CPR immediately.

ABDOMINAL PAIN

Abdominal pain where there is no visible injury can be brought on by normal stomach ache or cramps. Medical intervention is not normally required.

The casualty can simply rest and use a hot water bottle.

If the pain is severe which induces vomiting, diarrhea or a high temperature then medical assistance should be sought.

Depending on the severity you may wish to dial 111 or in severe cases, dial 999 / 112 and request an ambulance.
