Calling the Emergency Services

USING THE CASUALTY’S PHONEcalling emergency services

If the casualty has a mobile phone, you should use it to contact the emergency services because:

  • The phone will stay at the scene.
  •  It will send a text to their next of kin informing them that the casualty’s phone has been used to call the emergency services.

If the casualty’s phone is locked you can unlock it by:

  • Using the casualty’s finger or place the phone to their face to use faceID.
  • Press the power button continuously (normally 5 times) to bring up the emergency SOS screen.

Anything you remove from the casualty should be placed above their head so it’s out of your way and to stop you being accused of theft by any bystanders.
